Anna Rose Naimey
WESTBROOK - Anna Rose (Pizzo) Naimey passed away on Nov. 18, 2017, following a brief illness. Anna was born in Portland, Jan. 1, 1942, the daughter of Alfonso and Margaret (Martelle) Pizzo, graduating from Portland High School in 1960. Anna married George Naimey on March 15, 1969, at the Chestnut Street Methodist Church.

Anna had worked as dental assistant to Arthur Galli, D.M.D., for 27 years. While working for Dr. Galli, she also volunteered at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop for 15 years, where she received a special recognition award for her service there. Anna also worked at Orthopedic Associates for 13 years as a switchboard operator, where she retired from that office.

Anna loved cooking and was excellent cook. She always made family and friends a priority, making everyone feel welcome when visiting. Anna loved going to her brother Pete's every Christmas Eve, where her whole family gathered including siblings, nieces, nephews and all their children.

Anna was always a loving and caring wife, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Mary Connolly; brothers, Alphonse Pizzo Jr. and his wife Frances, Martin Pizzo, and John Pizzo; and nephew, Rocco Pizzo. Anna is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George; sister, Delores Veit and husband Michael; brothers, Peter Pizzo and wife Leonice, Michael Pizzo and wife Maria Trivellin, and James Pizzo and wife Mary Polito. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Paul Connolly; and sisters-in-laws, Elizabeth Montpelier, Dorothy Pizzo and Diane Pizzo. In addition, she is survived by her twin aunts, Mary McCarthy and Emelia Lane; and many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to extend their special thanks to Dr. Matt Dugan and Dr. Mark Wrona, New England Cancer Specialists, as well as to the caring staffs at the Maine Medical Center Gibson Wing and the Gosnell House.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the
