Anthony Francis (Tony) Dellinger of Buckeye, AZ, formerly of Carlisle, PA, died on November 7, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Flaherty Dellinger, sons, Jason Dellinger and Bryan Dellinger, Bryan's wife Lisa, and their three children, Anthony (17), Wesley (14), and Clara (12), and Tony's sister Josie Dellinger all of Pennsylvania.
Tony was born in Lebanon, PA the son of Anthony and Josephine (Nepi) Dellinger. He was a star athlete at Cumberland Valley High School and was voted "Class Clown" by his classmates. After high school he received his B.S. in Health and Physical Education at East Stroudsburg University where was he was a brother of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Tony met his wife, Mary, there. He pursued endless higher education with Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling, Computer Science and Business.
Tony worked for the state of Pennsylvania for his entire career as a recreation therapist and later as a trainer and developer. He retired in 2004 to enjoy his many interests. Traveling, sailing, photography, hiking, and brewing were some of his many passions. He looked forward to his summers at Cape Cod with family and friends. Tony loved his "Guy Trips" with college friends.
Tony and Mary moved to Sun City Festival in 2007. They made many close and wonderful friends. Tony enjoyed the many activities afforded by the community, and was officer of several clubs. He also volunteered teaching the AARP safe driving class.
Tony's greatest love was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing games and taking trips with them. Tony was known for his sense of fun, his stories, his willingness to help, and his love of life. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 St. Patrick's Shrine Church,152 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA 17013. Donations can be made in his name to Feed my Starving Children at
