Antonio Almeida Sales, 87 of High Street passed away on March 27th at Grace Barker Nursing Home. He was the husband of Maria Lidia Araujo Botelho Sales.
Born in Agua do Pau, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Agostinho de Almeida Sales and Maria Rosaria Pontes Sales. He was a laborer for Bristol Public Works Department for 20 years before retiring. He was a former member of the Colonial Lincoln Club, Don Luiz Filipe Association and the Portuguese Independent Band Club.
In addition to his wife Maria Lidia, he is survived by his children, Mary Muldoon of Barrington, Mary Lou Leitao of Bristol, Madalena Andrade Sylvester of Bristol, Margaret Martel of Warren and George Sales of Bristol; grandchildren Kelly Muldoon, Thomas Muldoon, Amy Leitao, Crystal Leitao, Joshua Leitao, Mario Andrade, Jessica Barros, Joseph Andrade and Melissa Andrade and great grandchildren Christopher Ouelette, Victoria Ouelette, Jason Ouelette, Mason Barros and Elia Marie Andrade. He was the brother of Augusto Sales of Canada and the late Virgil and Manuel Sales.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 1st 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High St with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
Calling hours are Tuesday March 31st from 4 - 8 PM.
