Arlene Delores Peacock, 76 of Apple Valley went home to be with Jesus on November 12, 2017.

She was born September 11, 1941 in Ellensburg, Washington to John and Florence DeKoning. In 1959, she graduated from La Puente High School, La Puente, California where she met and later married the one the Lord picked out for her - Fred Peacock.

Arlene and Fred built a home and business together, while raising their 3 children. She was Fred’s constant helper and encourager. Arlene was a wonderful mom who supported her children in their busy activities, like leading the cheerleaders for Pop Warner Football, taking the girls to dance class and helping out at the motorcycle races.

Arlene loved to work hard at everything she did and was not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty. She could operate dump trucks and heavy equipment one day and arrange flowers the next. Arlene was artistic and loved creating a beautiful home for her family. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through painting and pottery classes.

She had a humble servant’s heart. We cannot count the many times that we saw her serving others by painting a room, weeding someone’s yard or even helping a widow clean out her entire house. For over 20 years she taught the Bible to the pre-school class at her church.

She had a simple, straightforward faith. She believed God. Period. This faith inspired her to be a mighty “Prayer Warrior” and she kept a constant prayer list on her refrigerator.

Philippians 1:20

“My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.”

This was Arlene’s desire, to always honor Christ, even in her last days. She and Fred were determined, while she still had strength, to be Team Jesus, on the mission field. They enjoyed their last days together going to town and sharing the gospel. Fred shared the gospel and passed out tracts while Arlene prayed in the truck and gave tracts to those who came by. For this we are proud.

With Fred, Arlene built a legacy of faith and love through their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
