Arley Eugene Brogan, Sr. of Amma, Nellis and Montgomery, WV completed his earthly walk with God on Monday, February 15th, 2016.



He was a bond servant of Christ working from the Newton Baptist Church, Newton, WV. He inspired many through his faith in Christ.



Arley was born on June 18, 1942 to the late Dell French Brogan and Sarah Ellen (Pauley) Brogan.



Arley (Big Chew) retired from his favorite pass time as a road driver "running wild" for Overnite Transportation Company in 2004.



Arley proudly served in the US Navy as a Boatswain’s Mate aboard a Mike boat in the mid 1960's. He was a member of the Odell Masonic Lodge # 115, Madison, West Virginia, as well as RAM #41, Logan, West Virginia.



He is survived by his wife of 51 years Betty Dean (Adkins) Brogan, sons Arley, Jr. (Carla) of Roanoke, VA, Freddie Dell (Michelle) of Charleston, Matthew Shayne (Rhonda) of Montgomery. Grandchildren Troy (Taylor), Nicholas, Shayna, Heather, Ethan, Sabrina and Alex, Brother Roger Brogan, sister Eleanor (Brogan) Estep of Foster, WV; and brothers and sisters in law’s and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.



Family and friends will gather at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 18th at the Newton Baptist Church, 133 Hollywood Road, Newton, WV. A service celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 and a reception at the Church will follow.
