Arthur J. Joubert, 101 years old, of Auburn, died May 28, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Shrewsbury, MA on February 18, 1915 the son Arthur and Anna (LeBlanc) Joubert. He grew up in Shrewsbury and was educated in the local school system. It was there that he was married to the love of his life Geraldine L. Cooney and raised his family. He and his wife relocated to Auburn, NH in 1972.

He was employed for many years as a window and door installer for All Weather Aluminum. Arthur could always be found in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and a professional fisherman whose pupils ranged from the ordinary individual to such noteworthy students as Ted Williams and Curt Gowdy. He was president of the Shackwie Striper Club and the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association (MBBA). He was also blessed with a green thumb and his beautifully landscaped yard was the envy of many.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Geraldine Joubert in 2002 and by his son Arthur Joubert Jr.

Members of his family include his children Judith Riik and her significant other Robert Dion, Pauline MacDonald, Timothy Joubert and his wife Joan all of Auburn and Susan Vaillancourt and her husband Michael of Raymond, his 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren, his brother James Joubert and his wife Joan, his sisters Rita Motes and her husband Ed and Anna Progan as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday June 2 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday June 3 at 10 am in St. Peter Church 567 Manchester Rd. Auburn. Burial followed in Auburn Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Arthur's name be made to the Auburn Historical Association 102 Hooksett Rd. Auburn, NH 03032.
