Arthur Sherman Chandler, 80, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Wellington Parc. Sherman was a Korean War veteran. He was the owner of Sherman's Marathon and Kentucky Campers, and retired from Big Rivers Electric Corp. Sherman was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Catherine Chandler in 2005; a son, Byron S. Chandler in 1993; and five brothers, D. G., David, Melvin, Jimmy, and Glenn. He is survived by three children, a son, Jeff (Lisa) Chandler of Falls of Rough and two daughters, Stacey (Jimmy) Kimmel of Whitesville, and Lisa (Steve) Ash of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Heather (Lance) Davis, Nicole (Travis) Chandler, Jim Chandler, Kristen (Chris) Murphy, Jansen (Stacie) Lenzi, Chase (Kristen) Kimmel, and Alex Kimmel, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro with Fr. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro with military honors. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday with prayers at 6:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. A special thank you to the staff of Wellington Parc for the care they provided to Sherman for the past nine years.
