Aubrey F. Ellison, 88 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
He was born on June 13, 1925 in Magnolia to the late Lester Lee and Ada Ethyl (Wise) Ellison and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Gunner's Mate Second Class. Following his service he became an active member of the American Legion.
Aubrey and his wife Esther owned and operated Ellison Refrigeration Service for over fifty years. He was a member of the American, Arkansas and Magnolia Hereford Associations, and especially active in the Magnolia Hereford Association and served as its President multiple times.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Sherrill Ellison; sister Audrey May Ford; and a son Ronny Ellison.
Aubrey is survived by his wife Esther Ellison of Magnolia; daughter Sherry McKnight and husband Richard of Thibodaux, Louisiana; four grandchildren; and his very special friend, Lucky a border collie dog.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 am at Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home., Inc. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Association, c/o Glenda Starr, 1726 Highway 160, Magnolia, Arkansas 71753.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Boyd, Gary Duke, Paul Duke, Bryan Duke, Mike Ford and Randall Ford. Honorary Pallbearers will be O.L. Wise and Lynn Franks.
