MANITO ~ Barbara Ann “Barb” Dickson, 81, of rural Manito, passed away at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home.



Born December 19, 1933 in Springfield to Timothy James and Velda Mae (Yoakum) Sullivan, she married Weldon Eugene Dickson on July 16, 1955 in Springfield.  He survives.



Also surviving are three sons, Timothy (Vivian) Dickson of Surprise, Arizona, Tracy (Valerie) Dickson of Manito, and Matthew (Karla) Dickson of Pekin; one daughter, Teresa (Ed) Davis of Pekin; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, April (Shane) Benson, Andrew Dickson, Melissa Dickson, Kaylee Dickson, Alexandria Dickson, Matthew Dickson, Natalie Dickson, Bryan Dickson, and Adler Dickson; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Amanda Dickson; and one brother, Timothy Sullivan.



A homemaker, Barb had worked for Illinois Bell in Springfield and later Peoria, J.C. Penney’s in downtown Pekin, Pekin Credit Bureau, and last for CENTEL in Pekin.



She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the Catholic Council of Women.



Barb enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, crocheting, and knitting.



Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  Father Scott Potthoff will celebrate the Mass.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.



Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
