Barbara Ann Miller Futrell, 75, of Zebulon, NC, was born February 3, 1942 in Raleigh, NC. She was the first daughter born to Margaret Lucille Hopkins Miller Jordan and James Thomas Miller. Barbara passed away at WakeMed Hospital Main Campus on Friday, June 23, 2017 in Raleigh, NC. She married Charles Lewis Futrell, Sr. in North Hampton County, NC on July 11, 1966. She retired from working at AMF/Fairlanes Bowling Alley after decades of service. Barbara enjoyed crafting, genealogy, taking photos, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Lewis Futrell Jr. and Cheryl Lynn Pollen Futrell of Greensboro, NC, Warren Brian Futrell and Lesley Jean Abernethy Futrell of Raleigh, NC, and Richard Odell Futrell and Colleen Michelle Pearson Futrell of Burnsville, NC. Barbara is the beloved grandmother to five grandchildren, Katherine "Katy" and Alexander "AJ" of Burnsville, NC and Thomas, Divinity "Dee", and David of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by sisters, Sarah "Pug" Elizabeth Miller Branch and Donald R. Branch of Clayton, NC, Joan Elaine Miller Hubbard of Clayton, NC, Pamela Carol Miller-Reed Livingston and William M. Livingston of Newburgh, MD, Alma Louise Miller Jackson of Raleigh, NC, Jenny Renae Miller of Charlotte, NC, and Emma "Vernie" Laverne Miller Wall of Raleigh, NC; brother, James Roscoe Miller of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces and nephews, all whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Joseph "Joey" Stewart; and her beloved husband, Charles Lewis Futrell Sr., who passed away only four days before her.

A memorial service honoring Barbara's life will be held Wednesday, June 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road in Raleigh, NC. Following the service, a reception will be held at a private residence. A burial service will be conducted at a later date at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to cover final expenses for Barbara and Charles.
