Barry Howard Jaeger, 76, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, following a period of declining health.
Barry was born October 26, 1945 to the late Jack Jaeger and Sylvia Bernstein Jaeger. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua in Mt. Holly and worked as a substitute teacher for Burke County Public Schools. Barry loved working with children and was a wonderful EC teacher. He loved being a grandfather, reading, and being with his dogs, Bert and Josh.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his aunts, Dora and Bessie Jaeger.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Jennifer Renfro Jaeger; children, Cinnamon Weaver and husband Richard, and Dan Jaeger; stepdaughter, Zoe Cline and husband Lee; granddaughters, Donya Weaver and Alex Weaver; and step-grandchildren, Eliana Cline, Ethan Cline, and Eden Cline.
A mass will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua in Mt. Holly. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM at Mtn. View Cemetery in Rutherford College.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Society of Saint Pius X at www.sspx.gifts.
