Barry Hollandsworth
Barry Wayne Hollandsworth, 74, of Fairview, passed away on August 11, 2017 in his home after a short
battle with esophagus cancer.
He was born December 28, 1942 to the late Dale and Bertha Hollandsworth of Barrackville. He attended
school in Barrackville. Barry was a hardworking coal miner until he retired from Loveridge Coal Mine. He
enjoyed spending time with his family and camping at Spruce Knob in his earlier years and more
recently, Big Bear Lake, where he owned a campsite.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Marlene Hollandsworth; a daughter Shelli
Hollandsworth Nielson and her husband Charles of Barrackville; a son, Jason Hollandsworth and his wife
Christina of Canonsburg; 5 grandchildren, Lane Byard, and Abby, Ayden, Aaron, and Addilyn
Hollandsworth; and 2 step-grandchildren, Megan and Bethany Nielson. In addition, he is survived by 2
brothers, Robert Hollandsworth and his wife Linda of Barrackville; and Eugene Hollandsworth of Texas,
as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Charles and Francelia Towles, a
brother, Marvin Hollandsworth, and a sister-in-law, Linda Davis.
Mr. Hollandsworth's Family will receive friends at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont on
Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm for a memorial service.
