Ben Taylor Harris, 73, of Dunmor, Kentucky died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his residence. Ben was a loving husband, father, Papa, businessman, philanthropist and avid fisherman. He was born Wednesday, November 3, 1943 in Logan Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Cliva Harris and the late Viola Coursey Harris. He was the husband of Ruth Vaughn Harris of Dunmor, KY who survives. He was a graduate of Lewisburg High School in 1961. He served in the Army from 1964 until 1966 and was a Veteran of Vietnam. He worked at Genesco in Nashville, TN, for over 37 years and retired as the Chairman and CEO He was a member of First Baptist Church of Donelson. He served as a volunteer on several community boards in Muhlenberg County, KY. He completed the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School in 1995. Also surviving are daughters, Allison Miller - (Marc) of Signal Mountain, TN and Emily Parker - (Jeremy) of Knoxville, TN, brother, C.W. Harris of Lewisburg, KY; and seven grandchildren, Preston Miller, Jonathan Miller, Joshua Miller and Lydia Miller all of Signal Mountain, TN and Grant Parker, Luke Parker and Grady Sue Parker all of Knoxville, TN . The family will receive family and friends at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Donelson (Family Life Center), 2526 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37214 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to the Dale Hollow Eagle Cam (www.gofundme.com/3w2ak33g) Links are found at the bottom of the web page.
