Bernard "Brian" Rodgers, 95, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at his home. He was born July 24, 1921 in Scotland, moved to Ireland as an infant and came to live in the United States in 1941. He was a former resident of Lake Forest and Libertyville. Brian was a retired carpenter and also worked for many years at the school and Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest as a school bus driver, carpenter and groundskeeper. He was an Irish Army veteran and a member of the Church of St. Mary and later St. Joseph Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Madge Mutchler, Cathleen Rodgers-Wickman and Michelle Gagne; 11 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Madge in 1999 and by his son Brian "Too Tall" Rodgers and 8 siblings.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) Libertyville. Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am Monday, Nov. 28 at The Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake Forest.
