Bessie Mae Dubovick, 88, of Boonville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, June 28th at Thacher Funeral Home in Boonville. Funeral service is at 11:00 am Monday, June 29th at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Father Bob Duesdieker officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Mo.
Mrs. Dubovick was born in Jefferson City, August 14, 1926 to Argus F. and Laura Shackleford. She graduated from Jefferson City High School and married Oscar R. LaBoube in 1947. He preceeded her in death November of 1954. She married John Dubovick in March of 1964. He preceeded her in death September 1992. Mrs. Dubovick and her husband, John, owned and operated Big John’s Restaurant from 1950 to 1997. Her children were the most important and the highlight of her life.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Shackelford, Herbert Shackelford; and one sister, Norma Lee Chain.
Bessie is survived by six children, Oscar Ray (Pete) LaBoube of Lake Ozark, Olytha Rowden (Paul) of Columbia, Stanley LaBoube (Paula) of Pilot Grove, Raelyn LaBoube of Boonville, Johnna Smith (Thomas) of Columbia, John Michael Dubovick of Boonville; one sister, Ruby (Root) Trefz; seven grandchildren, Lori Lammers, Steven Lammers, Bryan Smith, Tyler LaBoube, Christopher Rowden, Michael Rowden, Chance LaBoube; three great-grandchildren, Ian Lammers, Braden Lammers, Miles Lammers; and many nieces and nephews.
