Beth Cooper, age 59, of Russellville, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on June 24, 1958, to Donovan and Mary Parsons.

She was a member of the East Side Church of Christ and Downtown Rotary. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University, her master's degree from Arkansas Tech, and did an additional summer study at Christ's Church in Oxford, England. She had a passion for traveling, reading, and education, teaching English for 37 years at both Atkins and Russellville High Schools with the last ten years being department head of English. Beth was very happy sponsoring the Rotary Interact group and giving back to her community.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Parsons.

Survivors include her husband, Hal Cooper Sr., of Russellville; a son, Clayton Cooper of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Derick Echols of Fayetteville; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Hal Jr. and Tracy Cooper of Russellville, and Lee and Sherri Cooper of Bentonville; her father, Donovan Parsons Jr. of Nacogdoches, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Jill Parsons of Houston, Texas, and Cabot and Melanie Parsons of Brooklyn, New York; a sister-in-law and her husband, Rita and Barry Whetstein of Ashdown; four nephews, Mark and Ashley Parsons, Reid Parsons, Cole Parsons, and Brian Whetstein; and two step-grandchildren, Chase and Sarah Cooper.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Performing Arts Center at Russellville High School with Mr. Jeff Asher officiating. Burial will be private and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Honorary Pallbearers are the past and present faculty and students at Russellville High School, members of the Downtown Rotary, and members of the East Side Church of Christ.
