Betty Ann (Holt) Fields was born to John and Lena Holt on October 2, 1936 in Owosso Michigan. Betty was the first born and took on a mothering role for her brother Howard and Sister Victoria at the young age of 13, when they lost their mother to cancer. Betty married Eugene Fields and later adopted their children Ted and Debbi. She devoted her life to raising their children and serving her community. Betty set a beautiful example of giving and selflessly serving as a wife, mother and friend. She was very active in the St. Francis Methodist church teaching Sunday school and participating in the choir. She very much loved to share her gift of singing. Betty enjoyed her role as the lunchroom lady and playground monitor at St. Francis elementary school. She taught many girls in brownies and Girl Scouts, instilling a love of learning and nature. She also served as a Cub Scout den mother and volunteered her time and knowledge to help teach adults how to read. Even in her senior years she loved to serve and connect with others in her assisted living home.
Betty will be missed by many. She is survived by her sister Vicki, son Ted, daughter Deborah and many special brother and sister-in-laws, 5 grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
