BETTY JANE SEIBOLD, Elizabeth Jane (Von Drake) Seibold, Lee’s Summit MO, at 93, passed peacefully to eternal life on Saturday the 18th of February 2017 at Carondelet Manor. Born on September 2nd 1923 in Kansas City, MO, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Betty graduated from High School and worked for Montgomery Wards and later for General Motors – Leeds Assembly Plant for 14 years, where she met the love of her life, Edward Fredrick Seibold. They married on September 9th, 1950. Together over the first 10 years of marriage, in the evenings after a full day at work, they built two duplex apartments and an 8 unit apartment building. Betty’s first priority was always her family so she began her career as a housewife with the birth of her 2 sons, Mark in 1960 and Edward II in 1962.

She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and hosted many family events at her home in Lee’s Summit, MO. Betty never met a stranger, and was always ready with a smile and conversation. She also enjoyed attending General Motors retiree luncheons with her husband, going to the movies, crafts, sewing, and gardening. An avid traveler in her later years, Betty went on a number of trips and cruises with her husband. Later without complaint, Betty took complete care of her dear husband Edward through 2 strokes until he passed in 1994. In the years after her husband’s passing she continued her travels with her beloved cousin, Betty Dow. They took many trips to Branson and traveled throughout Europe a couple times. She also went on many trips and cruises with her son Eddie’s family.

Betty enjoyed excellent health throughout her life. However during her last decade she began showing the gradual effects of Alzheimer’s. Then in the last couple years, Betty was lovingly cared for in the home of Grace Ewing, Eddie’s mother-in-law. It was with Grace’s loving and nurturing care that Betty was able to enjoy her final years before she succumbed to Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her son Mark Edward, his wife Ingeborg (Mueller) and their 3 children Nathan, Rachael and Michael. She is also survived by her son Edward “Eddie” Fredrick II his wife Lesa (Ewing) and their 3 children Elizabeth, Jason and Brian. Betty’s granddaughter Elizabeth also gave her 2 great-grandchildren Silas and Elijah. All of whom live in the Kansas City area and they brought great joy to her life. Both of Betty’s siblings preceded her in 1933 and in 1940.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a Tribute/Memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association ( ).
