Mrs. Betty Jean Williams, 77, of Connelly Springs, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care following a period of declining health.
Betty was born May 29, 1941 in Caldwell to the late James Arthur Bumgarner and Cora Lorena Kirby Bumgarner. She was a member at Wild Wood Advent Christian Church and worked as a boarder at Robinson Hosiery Mill.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Williams; brothers, Roy, Billy, and Mack Bumgarner; and infant brother, Howard Bumgarner.
Survivors include her daughters, Penny Winkler and husband Steve of Hickory, Pam Fleming and husband Daniel of Connelly Springs, and Peggy Sonnhalter and husband Sonny of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Jason Carswell and wife Kris of Connelly Springs, Justin Carswell and wife Kristen of Valdese, and Samantha Geiser and fiancé Jordan Mongelli of Brandon, FL; step grandchildren, Krista Van Horn and husband Jason, Payton Rooks, Noah Rooks, Amberly Van Horn, Jonathan Winkler and wife Susan, Carson Winkler, and Lily Winkler; great grandchildren, Jakob Carswell, Savanna Carswell, Declan Carswell, Oliver Carswell, Cadence Carswell, Logan Carswell, and Maci Carswell; brother, Jack Bumgarner and wife Pansy of Hudson; and sister, Joan Elkins and husband Eddie of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with the Rev. Allen Raby officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Service.
Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care at 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.
