Betty M. Simonian was born on July 6, 1929 in Lyndon Kansas and passed away on January 22, 2018 in Fresno, CA. Betty attended Junior High at Roosevelt High School in Fresno. She graduated from Hanford
High in 1947. After graduation she attended Central California Commercial College completing the general business course. Betty retired as a State Employee in 1988 from the Employment Department,
Apprentice Standards Division of Industrial Relations.

She and her husband David had two boys which she stayed at home for 16 years to raise them. After 16 years she went to work for McKinley Elementary School. Betty also worked for the Workers Compensation Appeals Board as a Senior Legal Stenographer, which she retired from then she went to work as a sales assistant for Martins Florist.

Betty was active in Philanthropic projects locally having served as president of Beta Chapter of Epsilon
Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was president of the McKinley El Capitan PTA and past president of Fresno
County Council of PTA. She was also past president of the Fresno chapter of the Fresno Chapter of
National Secretaries Association and was active in organizing a study course for the certified professional
secretary examination at Fresno City College.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Leota Ellen Crow Rogers and, William Robert Smith; brothers Howard Lee and Owen; Sister Leanora Smith.

She is survived by her husband David; sons Jeffrey David and wife Terri, Jerald Dale and wife Michelle
and grandchildren; Jordan, Alexandra, Bronte, Athen and Noah.

Graveside service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Monday, January 29,2018 at 11:00 a.m.
