Betty passed away in September 2018.

Betty was a resident of Rockville, Maryland at the time of passing.

A native of Beverly, MA, Betty L. Mercer graduated from Beverly High School in 1951, where she met her future husband, Robert A. "Bob" Woods.

After earning a two-year degree from Burdette College, she worked as a medical assistant for an eye doctor, while Bob attended Harvard University, served in the U.S. Army, and attended Harvard Law School.

Funeral services will be held at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Betty's name to the ALS Foundation (www.alsa.org).
