Beverly S Tapp, age 82, of Kansas City peacefully passed away December 28th at St Luke's Hospice House. Visitation begins at 9 am and services follow at 10 am at Floral Hills Funeral Home with burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wayside Waifs animal shelter, or similar animal rescues. Beverly was born in 1935 in Memphis TN. She moved to Kansas City as a small girl and attended JS Chick elementary and graduated from Northeast High School. Soon after graduating, she began a 34 year career with the Federal Reserve Bank working in the accounting and benefits departments. She retired in 1987. She stayed active in retirement by working for her brother's business, Mosher Williams Inc. She also worked on the board of Wayside Waifs animal shelter, donating her time and resources for years. Beverly had a lifetime love and devotion for animals which she passed on to all those close to her. Those who knew Beverly would quickly describe her as a kind, gentle soul who was quick to help others because, as she would say, "that's how I was raised." She was very active in her church, Independence Boulevard Christian Church and was a die-hard KC Royals fan. She leaves behind so many lifelong friends whom she would call or correspond with, just to see how they were doing. Beverly remained extremely close to her small family throughout life. That devotion to family extended to her two nephews and then to her great-nieces and great-nephew, attending as many births, birthdays and special events as she possibly could. She was so proud of them all. Beverly was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmer Sr. and Edwyna Tapp; her brother, Elmer Jr.; her nephew, David Tapp; and great-nephew Aaron Tapp. Survivors include: her nephew, Mark Tapp; and great-nieces, Courtney Scovill, Whitney Tapp, Brittney Schlatter and Kristy Tapp.
