Mrs. Bowers passed peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017. Born in Jackson, TN, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. Garner and Lou W. “Sam” Garner Lewis. Billie was the wife of 52 years to the late Robert A. “Bob” Bowers. She worked at DEM’s Fine Jewelry for 13 years before joining SLED where she retired following numerous years of service. Billie had a strong faith towards her Lord and was looking forward to being in the arms of Jesus. She loved drawing, crocheting, and being around young people. She was always a good sport and everyone who knew her was blessed, not only for her kind spirit, but her ability to laugh out loud and enjoy life! She opened her heart and her home to those in need and never turned away anyone. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt; a wonderful and amazing Mom and Maw Maw, and full of compassion towards all. Knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life and her Lord and Savior brings peace to her family who will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Crapps and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Kadee and Samee; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Lanette Garner, niece Aimee Johnson (Doug) and nephews, Cameron Griffin, Ryan Garner (Tat); and great-niece, Olivia Mae. She is also survived by numerous “adopted” children and grandchildren, too many to name! Billie was preceded in death by three brothers, James Richard Lewis, John Michael Lewis, and Terry Eugene Lewis.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
