Billy Joe Hardgrave went home peacefully to be with the Lord on April 21, 2017. Billy was born on September 1, 1939 to Chester and Lois Hardgrave in Hartman, Arkansas. He was the youngest of eight siblings. Billy moved to Texas after serving in the United States Air Force to work at Bell helicopter where he retired after 40 years. In 1976 he married Anita and also gained a stepson Dale Morris Jr. who he absolutely adored. He always supported Dale's musical endeavors taking him to many fiddler's contests to become a top notch professional musician. They had a very special bond that transcended any Father/Son relationship imaginable.

After retirement, Billy loved traveling to Arkansas to spend time with his daughter Cheryl and her family as well as his sister Myrtle. He also enjoyed spending time with his companion, Ina Simpson. Always steadfast in his faith, he spent tireless hours engaged in Bible study and discussion. Billy will always be remembered by those blessed to have known him as a man who truly lived God's word and as a dedicated selfless servant of the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anita, his parents, and 6 siblings.
