Bob was born on June 14, 1928 and passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Bob was a resident of Franklin, Tennessee at the time of passing.

In those days, they played from dawn to dusk, riding mule-back with a feed-sack for a saddle, and as cousin Judy noted, "you weren't really dirty unless you had Chambers County red clay all over you but, not to worry, you could wash it off in a #2 washtub." In Nashville, Bob attended Hillsboro High School, where he became the first freshman in the history of the school to letter in any varsity sport, in baseball.

In pursuit of his lifelong passion of flying, he joined the Navy as a naval aviation cadet and entered flight school in Pensacola, Florida, where he met and married Karen Patricia Head in 1961.

Committal service and interment will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Veteran's Cemetery in Nashville, at 11 am. The family will receive friends at a visitation at 2 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Brentwood Baptist Church, to be followed by a memorial service to celebrate Bob's life at 3 pm.
