Mr. Bobby Joe Ross, 67, of Morganton passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Bobby was born on September 1, 1952 in Burke County to the late Owen Ross and Nelleen Roper Ross. He was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church, and retired as a Policeman at Broughton Hospital. He loved fishing, hunting, and watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games with his loving dog, Dessie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Roper.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wilson Ross, three daughters; Dawn Bumgarner and husband Rodney, Faith Walker and husband Curtis, and Chasity Roper; two stepchildren; Rebecca Anne Smith, and Charles Alan Smith; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one great-grandchild; brother, Bennett Ross and wife Gladys; sister, Cheryl Childress and husband Brian; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Burkemont Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Painter officiating, with guest speaker and dear friend Bill Bradshaw. Interment will follow at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 at Burkemont Baptist Church.
