Bonifacio (Boni) Jaramillo died of natural causes on March 27, 2017 in Barstow, CA. He was born in Belen, NM, on September 12, 1945 to Celedon and Eloisa Jaramillo. He is survived by his daughters, Christina and Jenny, granddaughter Ezelle, brother Andres, sisters Odelia and Beatrice, and many who loved him and whom he loved. He was predeceased by his sister, Frances, and brother, Eloy. Boni graduated from Barstow High School in 1964 and attended Barstow Community College. In 1965, he began work with Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad and then was called to serve. He joined the U.S. Army with the First Cavalry Division in 1965. During the Vietnam War, he was part of MEDIVAC and received a Purple Heart when he was wounded at his base camp. He was married to Anne in 1968. He often volunteered for St Joseph’s Church, enjoyed desert hikes, watched baseball and basketball, worked outdoors, painted, listened to Oldies' music, and collected desert rock specimens and antique glassware. He retired from BNSF Railroad in 2004. He was known for his generosity, humor, and craftsmanship. A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 505 Mountain View, Barstow, CA, on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.
