Brewster Edward Borg, 79 of Lake Jackson entered Heaven's Gates on January 26, 2017. Bruce was born on December 7, 1937, in Long Island, New York, to Edward and Phyllis Borg.
Brewster "Bruce" Borg lead a full and rich life. A passionate and follower of Christ, he was profoundly generous and deeply thoughtful to family, friends and strangers alike. He joined the Air Force as an enlisted man at the age of 18, but was soon offered a distinguished Presidential officer's commission. He became a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran as a B52 navigator, flying more than 70 missions. He made the military his first career of 26 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his notable service, he completed his Bachelor's and first Master's degree. Following his honorable discharge, he received his MBA, worked as an accountant in the local community, operated a small business, and taught at several of the local community colleges. Rotary International named him a Paul Harris Fellow. In recent years, he faithfully served as the American Legion's local 306 post commander, in addition to the Vice Commander of District 9.
The family would like make a special acknowledgement of his doctors, Kahn and Kovacev, for their extraordinary aid in the final moments of his life. He was surrounded by family at his passing.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Glenda.
Bruce is survived by his wife Nancy Borg; children, Richard (Geanine) Borg, Michel Borg, Rodney (Rosa) Borg, Steven Borg, Kimberley (Bill) Chamberlin, Lourie Ceres, and William (Tammy) Werner; brother, Roger (Marsha) Borg; along with 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitations will be held at Restwood Funeral Home Monday January 30, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held at Restwood Funeral Home Tuesday January 31, 2017 starting at 12:00pm, with a graveside to follow at Restwood Memorial Park.
