After the final verse of life's journey, Brian F. Uhlir, fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family he wrote the final lines to a life filled with love, compassion and of course the harmony of music, on January 10, 2017, at his home in Troy, NH.

His ballad began on October 26, 1963 in a small town just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Lorain. He was born to Darrell and Georgene (Knispel) Uhlir. He was a 1981 graduate of St. Viator High School, in Arlington Heights, IL. After school he proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Navy. His journey took him all over the world where he worked as a Meteorologist. When the notes of the ballad sank to their deepest depths and he was faced with the threat of blindness: he rewrote the notes to a softer melody and never lost his enthusiasm for life. Determined to create his own symphony he set out be the conductor of a new destiny.

On April 20, 2002 he joined in bliss-filled harmony with the love of his life: Darleen Coldwell, and the two joined their hearts and lives together in an incredible bond that only added to the flavor of the ballad.

The verses of the journey are filled with the tales of the many travels that he would take. He was always ready to share his music with others: especially during "Open Mic Nights" at his favorite place in Milford, NH. He instrument of choice was the guitar and when he lifted it from it's rest the result would be an outpouring of the passion that he felt in his heart.

To have lived such a full life one must be surrounded by those who they truly love and care about. Among these are: his wife: Darleen of Troy, NH, his mother: Georgene "GiGi" Uhlir of Lorain, OH, his step-son: Bret Durfee and his wife Erica of Rindge, NH, his stepdaughters: Angela McGranaghan and her loving companion: Christopher of Peterborough, NH and Emily Garn of Jacksonville, NC, three step grandchildren: Marley, Brooke and Emmitt, his mother-in-law: Phyllis Coldwell of Amherst, NH, his sister: April Uhlir and his brother: Craig Uhlir and his wife Leigh both of IL, half brothers: Eric and Raymond Uhlir, cousins: Rob and Kim Jones, and several nieces and extended family members. For some the music ended before his, including: his Dad.

So that the final verse of life's journey may be made easier for others in his community, Brian's family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in his memory to Home Health Care Hospice and Community Services, PO Box 564, Keene, NH. 03431.

Funeral Services will be held at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave, Amherst, OH on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 12pm. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst, OH. Family and friends are invited to call on the family from 11am to 12pm.
