Brooke Erin Posey passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the age of 17. Brooke is survived by her loving parents, Marie Rudd Gregory (Todd) and Ernest Maurice Posey (Melissa Corass); sisters, Lauren Posey Westphal (Eric), Megan Posey, Lauryn Lee, Brandy Gregory Brewer (Chad), Shelby Gregory and Mallory Gregory; brother, Justin Lee; grandparents, Carroll Austin Mellina, Carol Rudd Kissinger, Joy Rita and Edward J. Corass, Jr.; aunts, Kathleen Posey (Albert N. Perreand) and Jean Valliere; uncles, Tim Posey (Adrienne), John Rudd (Samantha), Edward J. Corass, III (Dawn), Randy Corass (Aimee), Daryl Corass (Emilie) and Norman Corass (Naomi); her beloved nieces and nephews, Eloise, Oliver, Bria, Olivia, Emilia and Olive; adoring cousins, Austin Stewart, Neville Posey (Laina), Danielle Posey Forly (David), Wayah Posey, Haley Rudd, Trey Rudd, Emily Rudd, and her many Corass cousins. Brooke is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joseph “Papa Joe” Henry Rudd, Sr. , paternal grandparents, Mary “Mimi” C. Posey and Ernest “Papa” L. Posey, Jr.; uncles, Joseph “Jay” Henry Rudd, Jr. and James Routt. Brooke’s warm heart touched everyone. Her passion for life brought smiles and admiration to each person she met. Her affection and sincerity will never be forgotten. Brooke was taken from this life in a tragic automobile accident on the way to a horse show in Mississippi. She was an accomplished equestrian and swimmer. Brooke never met a baby or an animal she didn’t adore. Brooke was beyond her years; she declared her goals early and accomplished them through determination, perseverance and passion. She was a senior at Mandeville High School and was a member of their equestrian team. Brooke was a working student for Fox Ridge Farm in Folsom. Her memberships included the SYC swim team, USEF, USHJA, LHJA and GCHJA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 2480 US-190, Mandeville, on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
