He was a Army Veteran, Veteran of World War II, Purple Heart Recipient, Member of Knott County DAV Chapter #171, & 50 plus year Member of the Hindman United Baptist Church.

He was married to Elouise Williams Hays.

Time and Place of Funeral Services: 11AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, Kentucky. With Military honors by the Knott County DAV Chapter #171.

Visitation: 6PM-11PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, Kentucky.

Officiating: Bethel Bolen & Bill Kirby.
