Burrel Harrison “Burley” Williams, 88, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill.
Born on January 9, 1928 at Kaymoor, he was the son of the late John and Mayme Jackson Williams.
Burley was a retired coal miner having worked at Kaymoor Mining and New River Piston Sewell Company. Following retirement from the mines, he worked for King Coal Chevrolet and Benny’s Feed Store.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Daniel Williams; two brothers: Gene and Bill Williams; four sisters: Thelma Rupert, Martha Purdy, Virginia Larese Greene, and Bernice Burton.
Survivors include one sister: Shirley Sizemore of Parrish, FL; nephews: Frank Larese, Bill Williams, David Purdy, and Patrick Purdy; nieces: Evelyn Jackson, Karen Glendenning, Peggy Ols, Penny Coleman, Jeanette Dunn, Joyce Huffman, Sharon Mott, and Rhonda Kearney; and very close friends, Kathy & George Coleman and Bob Learmonth.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, July 1, 2016 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Ron George, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
