Brooks was a Past Master and member of Harmar Lodge #390, F&A.M., Past Excellent High Priest of American Union Chapter #1, Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Marietta Council #78, Royal and Select Masters, Past Commander of Marietta Commandery #50, Knights Templar, Past Grand High Priest of 13th Capitular District, he was a former member of the Masonic Park Board, Past Secretary/Treasury of the Masonic Temple Board, Past Governor of the Ohio Valley York Rite College #196, where he received the Order of the Purple Cross, Past Sovereign Master of American Union Council #445 Allied Masonic Degrees, Past Excellent Chief of the Knight Masons #94, Past Worthy Master of St. Thomas of Acon #16, Past Puissant Sovereign Master of Lafayette Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, a member of the Grand College of Rites of the U.S.A, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge where he served on the Learning Center Board for Dyslexia, Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Pri.
