Carl "Buster" Alphonso Ellison, III died on April 8, 2017. A Guilford County native, he is predeceased by his mother Claudette Polson Williams, her husband M B Williams, and his father Carl Alphonso Ellison, Jr.

Buster graduated from Ragsdale High School in Jamestown as well as Davidson Community College and the University of Phoenix. For the past several years, he worked with the Ryan Group of Atlanta Georgia, a distributor of high-end housewares. For many years, he was an executive with Great City Traders of San Francisco and was responsible for the lamp division, located in High Point.

He is survived by his life partner Samuel P Troy and brother Brian Williams of Jamestown, NC.

It is nearly impossible to capture all the highlights of a life well lived in a short obituary. Suffice it to say, his legion of friends literally covered the globe. He truly made a difference and had the innate ability to not only make friends but also to make them smile and laugh.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, April 21, 2017 in the Virginia Gilmer Room at First Presbyterian Church followed by a celebration of Buster's life at 11:00 AM the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations be made to the Carl A. Ellison III Memorial Fund at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Attn: Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, P.O. Box 571021, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021.
