Carmine A. "Cuz" Gerace, 86 of Toms River passed away surrounded by his loving family at Community Medical Center, Toms River on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Born in Manhattan, NY Carmine lived in Staten Island before settling down in Toms River 24 years ago.

During the Korean War, Carmine served as a corporal and squad leader in Company D, 351st Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, 88th Division. A proud veteran, Carmine loved his country. A man of faith Carmine lived for his family and showed that through his love of life with his positive attitude, generous and big heart and most importantly his amazing sense of humor. Carmine was a member and a Commodore of The Rudder Club, The Downtown Athletic Club, The Whitehall Club and the Foreign Commerce Club. Carmine was dedicated to the Steamship Industry for over 60 years retiring in 2013 from Sea Shipping Line, Red Bank, NJ where he was the Vice President of Sales.

Carmine is survived by his loving wife, Josephine of 61 years, his devoted children, Charles and his wife Sarah, Linda Gerace-Mysholowsky and husband Steven, five grandchildren, Charles II, Marie Ann, Matthew, Victoria and Christopher and his two great grandchildren, CJ and Matthew.

A visitation will be held on Sunday September 3rd from 2-7 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd, Toms River, NJ.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 5th 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Staten Island with interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island. Online condolences may be sent by visiting
