Carnell Calvin was a man full of gratitude and thankfulness to the Lord for the grace and mercy shown throughout his life. He was born in Denver, Colorado, to the parentage of Elaine Calvin Hurd and Bill Noland on July 9, 1963. He was the fifth of six children. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized by Reverend Robert D. Reed at the family church – Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He received his formal education in Dallas, and graduated from Lincoln High School. Later, he furthered his education by receiving a certification in plumbing. Carnell was a compassionate person who loved the Lord up until his last breath. His spirit was carried out through the relationships he made throughout life as a father, son, brother, and a friend. When things began to fall apart, he was always the one to make sure that peace was kept in the family. He had a spirit that allowed him to give to others willingly and would give unselfishly. He was always a support system for the ones he loved, and was quick to forgive. Carnell was preceded in death by his loving father, Bill Noland. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his mother, Elaine Calvin Hurd; daughter, Tajhma Calvin; son, Carnell Calvin, Jr.; siblings, David Taylor, Donald (Kathleen) Taylor, Phyllis (Charles) Wafer, Gwendolyn (Thomas) Chambers, and Dana (Phyllis) Hinskton; nieces, Laressa Dent, Ianthia Foley, Ijett Foley, and Jaden Jones; nephews, Thomas Jacobi Chambers II and Evan Straughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
