Mrs. Carol Ann Elmore, age 82, of Powder Springs, GA., passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Mrs. Elmore was born on December 19, 1934 in Holland, Michigan, a daughter to the late Arend Hopp and Gertrude Brinks Hopp.
Mrs. Elmore spent most of your childhood in Denver, Colorado; she and her identical twin were the middle of six children. Her twin sister Rookie preceded her in death September of this year. She met and married the love of her life, Bob Elmore in 1952 while Bob was serving in the United States Air Force in Colorado. After leaving the service, the two made their way back to Bob's hometown of Griffin, GA. then later to the Cobb County area where they created a lifetime of countless memories together. Carol completed Cosmetology school and was a hairdresser in the Cobb county area for over forty years. She also worked in the Guidance Office for both Harrison High School and North Cobb High School. She was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and loved her church family. She spent most of her summers at their mountain house in Grand Lake, Colorardo. Some of her favorite hobbies were playing bridge, golf, riding her bike, and working outside in her yard. Carol was a very independent lady who always did far more for others than she did for herself. Though her hobbies and career were vital parts of her life, her greatest accomplishment and blessing was being a wife to her late husband and a devoted mother to her three children. Carol was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, Nana, and great Nana; she will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Elmore, and four siblings.
