Carol Elizabeth Brassard 77, of Keene, NH, an inspiration and example to all that knew her, ended her 10 year journey living with cancer, on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at her home, surrounded in love by her family.

She began her life journey in Peterborough, NH, on August 10, 1939, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Irene A. (Forgues) Brassard.

Carol was educated in Peterborough, and received her Bachelor Degree from Boston University and her Master Degree from the University of Vermont. She taught in western Massachusetts, and still has many close ties with friends there. She also counseled in Hudson, NH.

Upon her father's death, Carol ran his interior and exterior painting business for a few years. Following her retirement from her director of counseling responsibilities at the Hudson, NH School District, Carol prepared meals for the nuns at the Sisters of Mercy Convent in Keene, for five years.

Carol was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Josephine No. 319, at one time, serving as Regent, and giving love of herself for many years.

Carol was especially close to and proud of her "Busy Bees". She will be greatly missed for her positive attitude, love of people and interest in their lives, and her compassion.

She will be greatly missed by her brother, Wilfred Brassard, of San Antonio, TX; two nieces, Donna Chouramanis and her husband, Larry, of Nashua, NH, and Beth Gagnon and her husband, Bob, of Manchester, NH; nephew, Mark Dube of Rutland, VT; grandniece, Ashley Chouramanis, of Lee, NH; grandnephew, Christopher Chouramanis, of Merrimack, NH; and longtime, devoted friend, Toni Paoletti, of Keene; and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Dube.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 9:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
