Carol Jean Wright, 81, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.



She was born, March 7, 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late James Edward and Virginia “Burton” Sigmon.



She attended Central United Methodist Church as well as Canaan United Methodist Church. Carol was graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She retired as a medical assistant and was a caregiver to her own mother as well as others. As mom’s dementia worsened, she was sent a special angel by the name of Phyllis Dunlap who took wonderful care of Mom in the later stages of her life, and mom loved her.



Mom was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed every moment spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.



She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Leonoro, whom she adored, and husband Albert. Grandchildren, Andrew and Michael Leonoro. She also leaves behind a loving brother, Jimmy Sigmon.



A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Moss officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with family and friends will be one hour prior to service time.



The family would also like to thank Dr. Susan Cavender for taking such good care of mom.



In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd West, Charleston, WV 25387.
