COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Carole Johanne Strange Vinck, 77, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel with Reverend Lee Butler officiating the service. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vinck died Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Born in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late James Francis Strange and Ray Nell Edwards Strange.
Johanne was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended Bob Jones University. She was the Lead Hearing Assistant for the Office of Hearing and Appeals in the Social Security Administration. Johanne was a born again Christian and a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, where she was married in 1958. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star of South Carolina #273 in Dentsville, S.C., and the Daughters of the Nile Arabi Temple #141, which is affiliated with the Jamil Shrine Temple. She was an avid reader, had a strong love of family, and loved to travel across the U.S. and Europe with her husband.
Surviving are her husband, Russell W. Vinck, of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son Russell William Vinck, Jr. and five siblings.
