Carolyn Ann Aronson-Murphy passed away on November 9, 2017, at the age of 78. Born March 9, 1939 in New Orleans, Carolyn moved to Gulfport, MS, four years prior to her death. Carolyn was the wife of the late Ralph Murphy. She also had a prior marriage to Michael Silvers. She was the oldest child of the late Julius Aronson and Rebecca Blitz Aronson. She graduated from Fortier High School in New Orleans in 1956. Carolyn then attended the University of Alabama and Loyola University of New Orleans, from which she received a bachelor’s degree in physical education. She taught for a number of years in public schools in New Orleans, including Capdau and Gregory Junior High Schools. Carolyn is survived by her son, Marc Aronson, her sister, Reevyn Aronson-Pinger, her brother, Darryl Aronson, and her many cousins, especially Reuben and Marlene Friedman. When younger, clogging was her passion. Carolyn was a most kind and generous person. She delighted in giving gifts to her loved ones, all of whom will miss her so very much.
