Carolyn Huddleston (nee DeHart), of Willow Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 surrounded by family at her home. She was 76. Carolyn was the loving wife of the late Edwin C. Huddleston, Jr. Born in Washington, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Doris F. (nee Lacey) DeHart. Carolyn graduated from Upper Moreland High School in 1958. She worked for 31 years at Hillside Cemetery, where she a burial coordinator and secretary. Carolyn also volunteered at Warminster Hospital as a front desk receptionist and greeter. She was a longtime member of Willow Grove United Methodist Church. Carolyn died after a long, brave, and courageous battle with breast cancer. Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer Huddleston, Audrey Huddleston, and Paula Huddleston Meltzer (Mark); grandchildren, Bradley, Daniel, Aaron, Nicholas, and Isabella; siblings, Ruth Schamberg (Kenneth) and Robert DeHart (Joyce); and sisters-in-law, Carol Sheppard (the late Dave) and Virginia Schaffer (Carl). She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Shuler (survived by her husband, Jake). Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Sunday, May 21, 2017 after 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N York Road, Hatboro. There will be additional viewing on Monday, May 22 after 10:00 am in the Willow Grove United Methodist Church, 34 York Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090 until her funeral service at 11:00 am. Carolyn's interment will immediately follow in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Willow Grove United Methodist Church, or the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
