Cass Mitchell, 41 of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was born November 12, 1975 in Little Rock. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fordyce, a member of the Chambersville Fire Department, and he was a pipeline inspector.

Cass was a 1994 graduate of Prairie View Academy in Bastrop, Louisiana. He made all-state offensive lineman and was voted Most Valuable Player by his team. He played on the 1991 Fordyce Redbug State Championship team. But the love of his life was his two nieces, Presley and Hollyn.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Brown.

Cass is survived by his parents Randy and Debbie Mitchell of Hot Springs; his brother Justin Mitchell and his wife Amy of Hot Springs; two nieces, Presley and Hollyn Mitchell of Hot Springs; his grandparents Larry and Shirley Pierce of Fordyce and Myrtle Brown of Fordyce; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many, many friends.

Memorial services will be 2PM Friday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel in Fordyce with Rev. Nick Flowers officiating. A visitation will be Friday from 1PM until service time. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
