Catherine "Cathe" L. Keen (aka "The Penny Lady"), age 65 of Oak Ridge, born October 18, 1949, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2015, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. One of the highlights of her life was being known as "The Penny Lady" to coach Joe Gaddis beginning in 1991. Thanks you to Coach Gaddis for his love and support during mom's illness. Cathe was an Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years and enjoyed making the grounds at the church beautiful. She was employed by Parkwest Medical Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Henry; father and stepmother, Arnold and Drucil Henry.
Loving and devoted husband of 44 years: Edward James Keen, Jr
Daughters: Christy Hicks and husband Stewart
Elly Larkin and husband Jonathan
Sisters: Maudean Wallace
Deborah Smiddie and husband Gary
Mother in-law: Mary R. Keen
Sister in-law: Teri Smith
Grandchildren: Emma, Bailey, Owen and Sheldon
Special family friend, Leigh Ann Riker
Special thanks to the many care givers and nurses over the years, especially at Tennova Hospice facility and Kelsey Lunihan.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 28th from 5-7PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Charles Campbell officiating. Private graveside service will be held Sunday, March 29th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of East Tennessee or Tennova Healthcare Auxiliary Hospice Fund, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
