Catherine Kravosky Heimann

On March 30, 2017 Catherine (Kay) Heimann passed away peacefully in her home in Huntsville.

Catherine was 94 years old and had lived in Huntsville since 1966. At one time, she had been employed by the Post Exchange on Redstone Arsenal in the Military Clothing Sales Department.

Catherine was born in Indianola, Pennsylvania December 1, 1922 to Michael Kravosky and Anne Novoschenko Kravosky, who immigrated to Harmmerville Pennsylvania form Suwalky, Russia in 1919. She married William A. Heimann in April of 1942. At the beginning of World War II, she trained as a machinist at the Schaffe’s facility in Oakmont, Pa. When her husband completed his basic military training, she accompanied him to duty locations in Florida and Massachusetts. During his career in the U.S. Army, she accompanied him making a home in Oklahoma, New Jersey, Alabama, Texas, New Mexico, Germany, and North Carolina before finally returning to Huntsville.

Catherine leaves behind two sons, Randolph W. Heimann, Sr. and Vallie Jean (spouse) and William A. Heimann, Jr., both of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Randolph W. Heimann, Jr. and Marsha (spouse) of Cameron, North Carolina and Samantha Hilton of Huntsville, Alabama; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Heimann of Cameron, North Carolina, Charles Smith of Hazel Green, Alabama, and Carter and Catherine Grace Hilton of Birmingham, Alabama. She joins her husband of 57 years, William A. Heimann, Sr., who passed away May of 1999, at the feet of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

You may also visit with the family on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 9:00am until 11:00am with Funeral Services to follow in Valhalla's Chapel. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
