Cecil Philip "Phil" Sharitz, Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. Phil was born on February 8, 1950 in Bluefield, WV to the late Cecil Philip Sharitz, Sr. and Rosemary Webb Sharitz. He was a self-employed equipment manufacturer, owning a partnership in SK Bowling, Inc. in Wilson. He was also founder of BHBO Inc., a global ministry for orphans, children and youth. Phil was a faithful and active member of Green Pines Baptist Church, where he had a passion for missions. He was an avid NC State and University of Kentucky fan. Phil enjoyed freshwater and saltwater fishing and playing golf.
A service to celebrate Phil's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Green Pines Baptist Church, 1498 Hodge Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm at the church.
Phil is survived by his wife: Mary Ferguson Sharitz; aunt: Fannie McGlothlin of Wytheville, VA; cousins: Joe McGlothlin of Tallahassee, FL, Neal Sharitz of Milton, FL, Mike Sharitz of Chesterfield, MO, Scott Webb of Summerville, SC, Andy Webb of Purlear, NC, Brian McGlothlin and David McGlothlin, both of Monks Corner, SC; special adopted daughter: Kristina Camyko of Belarus; mother-in-law: Helen Faye Ferguson; and many special members of the Ferguson family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BHBO Inc. or Green Pines Baptist Church Mission Fund.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" Romans 10:14-15 ESV
