Chancy K. Olthoff, formerly of Sioux Falls and Aberdeen, SD, died on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Montecito Assisted Living in Peoria, AZ where he had lived since March, 2014. Mr. Olthoff was born January 8, 1922 at Lilly, SD to Dick and Johren (Gulbraa) Olthoff. He graduated from Wallace High School in 1940 and entered the military service on October 24, 1940 serving in the Tunisian, Naples Foggia and Rome-Arno campaigns receiving his honorable discharge on May 15, 1945.

He moved to Aberdeen and started working for Sears Roebuck & Co. on May 25, 1945 until his retirement on December 31, 1982. While working at Sears he managed the hard lines departments.
He married Amelia Kougl at Elk Point, SD on April 2, 1945. She died in Aberdeen November 1, 1987. He married Venita (Selby) Larson on May 1, 1989. She died December 1, 2015

He was a member of the Elks, Moose, American Legion, and the VFW of Aberdeen, and the Westward Ho Country Club of Sioux Falls. He also spent many years working with the Boy Scouts in Aberdeen.

Survivors include two children, Pamela (Mrs. Brian) Bayha, Springfield, OR, and the Reverend Dr. Terry K. (Renee) Olthoff, Sun City, AZ; four grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Bayha, Kathryn (Mrs. Stephen) Himes, Christopher Olthoff, and Andrea Olthoff, 4 great grandchildren, step-daughter-in-law Jonnie Larson,
and the children and grandchildren of step sons Larry Larson and Robert Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Alvina, his wives, and both step-sons.

Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, SD (Time and Date to be determined), with burial in Riverside Memorial Cemetery. Visitation (Time and Date to be determined). Family is requested to meet 1 hour prior to the service. Reception to follow.
