Charles B. Wheat Sr. departed this life peacefully on January 10, 2018 at Harvest Manor in Denham Springs. C.B. was a loving husband to Onzel for 72 years, and loving father to Charlie and Jonathan, a grandfather of three and great grandfather of four. His note to fame was winning a State Championship as Live Oak Basketball Coach, teacher and assistant principal at Denham Springs High. Born December 13, 1917 to Joseph Wheat and Lizie Reid Wheat in Pine Grove, Louisiana. C.B. was proceeded in death by wife Onzel Van Vynckt Wheat and son Kenneth Maurice Wheat; by his parents and 6 siblings Julius, Jessie, Alice, Harvey, Luther and Authur. Survived by son C.B. "Charlie" Wheat Jr and (wife Brenda Reynolds Wheat); and son Jonathan Lee Wheat (husband Chad Woodland), grandchildren C.B "Chuck" Wheat III (wife Callie), William David Wheat and Stephanie Wheat Hlywa (husband Mark); great grandchildren Mackinzey Hlywa, Christopher Hlywa, Anne Wheat and Kittrell Wheat; also survived by nieces and nephews. C.B. was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church, Denham Springs. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm; visitation will resume at Live Oak United Methodist Church on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 8:00 am until Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Beech Ridge Cemetery.
