Charlie Garrison, a 51 year resident of Lubbock, passed away March 6, 2007 after a 16 month struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was 79 years old. He is survived by 1 sister, (Alice of Altus, OK) his 4 sons, (Eddy of Lubbock, Rev. David of Springfield, MO, Roger of Philadelphia, PA and Marvin Roanoke, VA) and their wives. He also has 7 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Sanders Funeral Home. Charlie served in the armed forces during 1944 and 1945 and finally moved to Lubbock in 1955, where he soon joined the Lubbock Fire Department. He was also a skilled carpenter and worked for a construction company which built hundreds of houses in Lubbock during the 60’s and 70’s. Arrangements are being handled by Sanders Funeral Home, where there will be a time of celebration and remembrance in the state room on Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Wayne Avenue Baptist Church-Youth Department or to VistaCare Hospice.
