Dad's life was remarkable, Born in Green River, Wyoming to George and Lena Vegos, who were immigrants from Greece and Holland. They were both LDS members and had sealed their union in the temple.

Dad was a true American hero. He joined the Navy during the Korean War, serving as an elite Frogman. He was part of Forward Recon and the Underwater Demolition Team. Dad returned from duty to study and graduate from the University of Wyoming. He then became a statistition/engineer for Jet Propulsion Laboratory and helped to send many a mission to the stars. He was also part of a team that placed antennas around the world to aid in earthquake prediction.

He was married to mom for 51 years. They were recently sealed to each other in the Los Angeles temple for time and eternity. Dad was truly a horseman at heart. He loved working with the babies and yearlings and watching them become amazing cutting horses. He also had a soft spot for stray dogs that he would find along side the Angeles Forest Hwy., scooping them up and bringing them home to the ranch.

Dad was big supporter of Child Fund International, an organization that helps children from around the world to have a better life.

In the end, dad had a long battle with cancer that he just wasn't meant to win, During his last days, all his children and grandchildren had spent many wonderful hours by his side and we will gather again this weekend to finally lay him to rest at the base of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in Logan, Utah.

What this world gives up, heaven gains, Ride on dad, we love you!
